A Familiar Voice Back on Our Clinical Team
We're happy to welcome Kelsey Wilson back to the California Family Institute as a Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC #19572), supervised by Elizabeth Armstrong, LMFT #111154. Kelsey rejoined our clinical team this summer, and we're glad to have her back.
Kelsey holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands. Before becoming a therapist, she spent ten years living abroad: six years teaching in Spain, then four years in the Netherlands, where she earned a Master of Science in Environmental Sustainability at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and worked in behavioral science research. Those years taught her the importance of community, understanding different perspectives, vulnerability, constant change, and hard lessons in love.
Her Approach
Kelsey offers kind, compassionate therapy that helps clients process their experiences, uncover new perspectives, and take steps toward the future they're hoping for. She works with individuals, couples, families, and teens on concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and life transitions, and her practice is LGBTQ+ affirming.
Kelsey believes creating a genuine, trusting connection with clients is central to her work, and is honored to walk alongside people during some of their most difficult moments.
Kelsey also leads our new Women's Group, a space for women at a turning point.
Get to Know Kelsey
Outside of the therapy room, you'll often find Kelsey surfing, making pottery, going on solo surf trips in Nicaragua or Mexico, and spending time with friends and family.
